- Fill the transmission with the correct grade of transmission fluid. The manual says put in 5 litres of fluid. I put in about 5.3 litres and the level was still low. You could safely put in 5.5 litres or more. Just be careful not to overfill the transmission.
- Reattach the battery cables if you removed the starter motor.
- While trying to keep your heart rate down, start the car and allow it to idle for a minute or so to let the fluid pump around the transmission.
- Change your clothes (unless you like transmission fluid in your car) and take the car for a drive. Check to make sure the transmission engages the correct gears and everything works as it should.
- If all is well, congratulate yourself on a job well done. You now have bragging rights.
