Volvo High Mileage Club - FAQ

Why are there two pages on this web site?
There was never a 'public' place for owners of high mileage Volvo cars to 'advertise' their 'glory', so some years ago the 'unofficial listing' as it is now called was formed on this web site. Then in 2006 the Official Register was formed.

What is the difference between the two?
The older 'unofficial listing' is open for anyone to add their own high mileage. No stickers or badges are issued. There is no registration nor need to prove your mileage, you just fill in the online form and it is automatically added to the list.
The new 'Official' list was created jointly by Volvo Car UK and the Volvo Owners Club. To be listed you have to send some reasonable proof of the mileage. After being entered into the register you are sent a free window sticker. You will also have the opportunity to purchase a metal grille badge according to your mileage class.

What is the minimum mileage to be listed?
150,000 miles on each of the lists.

My car records kilometers not miles, can it still be listed?
Yes, in both lists the kilometres will be converted to miles.

Can I be listed in both lists?
Yes.

If I am already in the 'unofficial' list do I automatically get entered into the 'official' register?
No. You must apply to be listed in the official list.

How do I apply to be entered into the official register?
Go to the 'MENU' button at the top left of the page and go to 'High Mileage Club'. Select 'Official Volvo Register' then 'Main information page'. This will have the instructions.

Can anyone view the official register?
Yes. Go to the 'MENU' button at the top left of this page and select 'High Mileage Club'. Then select 'Official Volvo Register'. You can then choose the class you wish to view.

What are the classes?
There are three classes. The Gold Class is for cars with over 500,000 miles. The Silver Class is for cars between 300,000 and 499,999 miles. The Bronze Class is for cars between 150,000 to 299,999 miles.

How do I get on the unofficial list?
Go to the 'MENU' button at the top left of this page and select 'High Mileage Club'. Then select 'Unofficial Listing'. You then select 'Add new mileage' if this is the first time you are entering it.

How do I update my mileage in the unofficial list?
Go to the 'MENU' button at the top left of this page and select 'High Mileage Club'. Then select 'Unofficial Listing'. You then select 'Update mileage'.

Do I need to update my mileage in the official register?
Only if your mileage takes you into a new class.

What details are required to be entered into the official register?
Name, address, email address, phone number, car model, year, chassis number, registration plate number, mileage, reasonable proof of mileage.
